The three illegal Chinese miners, currently on police bail, have harassed ex Osun Commissioner of Police, who is now the SA to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Security, Mrs Abiodun Ige, at Ilesa.
It would be recalled that the three expatriates: Liu Yange, aged 36; Liu Ti Gang, 28 years; and Tang Ai Ting, 50yrs and 21 other locals, were few days ago, arrested while engaging in illegal mining activities at Ido-oko Ijesa.
It was revealed that presently, the town has been degraded and destroyed by the activities of illegal miners, who have also subjected the entire town to the risk of earthquake.
In accordance with the Nigerian constitution, the suspects were later granted bail, but instead of showing remorse, they mobilized to harass the SA security, who led the state enforcement team to the four local governments currently on lockdown.
And to make the matter worse, the security operatives attached to the Illegal miners daringly attacked the former Commissioner of Police, Mrs Abiodun Ige and members of Amotekun Adhoc Corps with guns at close range, but luckily God saved the CP and men of Amotekun Corps, who successfully disarmed the daring security personnel.
As at the time of filing this report, the three Chinese illegal miners had been rearrested and brought to Osogbo, the state capital.
Residents of Ilesa, who spoke with newsmen, expressed shock and disappointment that expatriates and the security attached to them could have the effrontery to harass and attack the security chief and Amotekun men on the Nigerian soil; calling on appropriate authorities to ensure that they were brought to book, accordingly.
In his reaction, the Director General, Amotekun corps, state of Osun, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, thanked God for saving the lives of the former CP and Amotekun volunteers; vowing not to succumb to any negative influence, no matter the level of threat or intimidation.
