The Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almoroof Oloyede has reinstated his commitment to working assiduously for the development of the local government.
Oloyede gave the assurance at the local government secretariat when the council civil servants welcomed him to office after being sworn in by the Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday, 27 July, 2021.
To achieve his vision of developing the local government to an enviable state, Oloyede appealed to members of staff of the council to support his vision and work towards achieving it.
He said, “I want to crave your indulgence to support me, we cannot do it alone. I see myself as a prophet, I see myself as a vehicle to develop this local government. I see myself as a person God want to use to bring peace and succour to the local government.
“Let make history together, let write our name in gold so that when we leave our names will be writing in gold. We have a lot to do. When I drive around, the state of roads is disheartening, I want to work, I need your support.”
Commenting on the importance of making available dividends of democracy to the citizens, Oloyede said, “If we can give more democracy dividends to people, they will be glad to vote for us at any time and any day. The people are there to vote, but they are just fed up with bad administration, this we hope to correct”.
The council boss assured members of staff that he will operate an open door policy throughout his administration.
He said “My doors will be open to all staff no matter how small your position is. You can always walk up to me if there is an issue. See the Council Manager and Council Treasurer and myself as your friends. I am approachable.”
The Vice Chairman, Mrs Modupe Badmus described the Chairman as a man of integrity who will do as he has promised.
She also appealed to members of staff of the council for cooperation to make the local government better for all.
“He is a man of integrity, I promise you, we will make Oshodi great again. I beg you to please support us to make our vision of transforming Oshodi a reality,” she said.
Responding, the Council Manager of the local government, Mrs Latifat Balogun, welcomed the chairman and assured him and his deputy of unflinching support of members of staff of the council for the administration.
“I want to assure you of our unflinching support to your administration, may Allah assist us,” she said.
