Men of the Nigerian Police anti-kidnapping squad in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have rescued a woman, and her three children from armed kidnappers.
PRNigeria learnt that the woman, alongside her children, were abducted at Kekeshi village in Abaji area council, on Sunday morning.
But upon receiving a distress call, the FCT Police squad, our correspondent learnt, swiftly responded and stormed the community in a “Commando Style”.
“Our anti-kidnapping squad engaged the gunmen in a fierce gun battle, and thereafter overwhelmed the criminals. The woman and her children were rescued safely around 1:30pm yesterday,” a Police intelligence officer disclosed.
Recalled that the FCT Police Command had launched a strategic counter-kidnapping operation to checkmate emerging security concerns, early this month.
Acting on credible intelligence, PRNigeria then reported that, the Command on Saturday, 6 February 2021, arrested six suspected kidnappers along Apo axis.
The suspects who had earlier abducted three persons were arrested by eagle-eyed Police operatives on routine patrol, while attempting to relocate one of their victims.
Further investigation led to the rescue of two other victims who identified the suspects.
