The publisher of Integrity Reporter, an online news medium, Mr Adewale Ogunniran has joined the race to represent Ona Ara/Egbeda Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Speaking at a media interaction in Ibadan, Ogunniran who is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said his desire to join politics was prompted by the need to join the league of the right minded people with experience who are poised to move Nigeria forward.
“As a journalist, I have been monitoring the political development in this nation and I am moved by the fact that many of those who fought for the liberation of this nation from the shackles of military rule have not been privilege to execute what we have for the Nation, it is time for us to allow visionary leaders to rule this nation so that we can get out of this quagmire,” he said.
Oguniran while speaking on 2015 election said “there is no doubting the fact that APC will take over the government of this country come 2015, the party will give us a credible candidate that will be widely acceptable to the people and that will put an end to the government of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria”.
While speaking on some of his plans for the people, Oguniran said ”I have started with empowerment programmes for the people and when we get there by the special grace of God we shall continue to help our people and do things that will make life better and meaningful to our people, majorly there will be regular free health services for our people, I will support
agricultural development, education among others for the benefit of our people”.
Speaking on the present administration in the state, he said, “Ajimobi is doing excellently well, he has been able to change the
face of Oyo state through infrastructure development, look at what is happening in Ibadan, Oyo, Ogbomoso and others. he deserves second term in office. I am appealing to the people of Oyo state to vote for him for another term so as to enhance stable development of the state”.
Oguniran, a graduate of the University of Lagos hails from Ibadan and started his journalism career with the City People magazine and moved on to The News magazine, before he started BAT Communications, a media consulting firm and publishers of an online news medium integrityreporters.com.
