It’s A Declaration Of Political War Which Will Be Determined On Election Day -Osoba, Reacting To Inauguration Of Amosun’s Factional APC Exco

A former Governor of Ogun State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Aremo Olusegun Osoba, has described the inauguration of the factional state executive loyal to the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun as a declaration of ‘political war’ which outcome would be determined through elections.

He said this while addressing his loyalists at an APC stakeholders forum held in his Ibara home in Abeokuta, southwest Nigeria, on Friday, 6th June, 2014. Osoba while reacting to the inauguration of the factional state executive loyal to Amosun sworn in by the Interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande on Thursday, 5th June, 2014 in Abuja.

The ex-Governor also described the inauguration of the Amosun faction as a ‘deliberate sin’ committed by the national leadership of the party.

Osoba stated that he had expressed his doubts about the Elders’ Committee which the national body mooted two weeks back, adding that his fears had been confirmed.
He said, “I said it last week that I don’t trust all these people in Abuja. They said they would send some elders but they did not.

“Let us face where we are going. Let us stand firm, and hold on to the truth. Father forgive them, because this is a deliberate sin.”

Osoba advised his loyalists to remain calm, and should not be provoked, but should be prepared for the elections and exercise their voting right.

He said, “They have given their own judgement. God’s judgement is coming, and that is your vote. Those who cheated us, we have handed them over to God. Be firm and resolute, the fight is political. Some people said we should go to court and I said no, because this is not a judicial matter, it is a political war, we will meet on election day.

If they are the one older than us or we are the one older than them, it will be settled on election day.”

Osoba who said the executive loyal to him had obeyed APC rules and guidelines by paying N18.8 million for the positions they contested, added it was unfortunate they were the ones rejected. He said, “You are the original contestants. You are the ones that paid N18.8 million into the account of APC in Abuja. We are the state that complied fully with the APC guidelines. We have the teller numbers, date and banks where you paid”.
