Contrary to rumour being spread around, thegazellenews.com can authoritatively confirmed that Princess Veronica Olusoga remains the Leader of the Legislative Arm of Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State.
This medium learnt that, one Gbenga Amuludun, allegedly loyal to the incumbent member of the Lagos State House of Assembly for the area, was responsible for spreading the false rumour.
The Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Abdur-Rasheed Abiodun Mafe and the lawmaker are both locked in serious battle to pick the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Alimoso State Constituency 1 in the state Assembly.
Reacting to the rumour, however, the Clerk of the Mosan-Okunola LCDA Legislative House, Ayeni Muyiwa, stated in his official report of the councillors’ plenary sitting of Thursday, 24th July, 2014, concluded that Princess Olusoga remains the Leader of the council’s Legislative Arm.
According to Ayeni in the report, the plenary session was conveyed to discuss the issue of outstanding sitting allowances owed the councillors by the council.
The Leader recognised a councillor, Opeoluwa Adeshoye, to speak on the matter, but, surprisingly he moved for the impeachment of the Leader.
His motion was countered by Councillor Kunle Raheem from Federal Ward, who noted that it was illegal to move for the Leader’s impeachment when she had neither been querried nor issued with any impeachment notice.
The sitting thus ended in such confusion meaning that Princess Olusoga remains the legal Leader of the council’s Legislative Arm.
