Super Eagles’ Alex Iwobi continues to revel in his new wing back role as he put in more than a decent performance in Everton’s 1-1 draw with relegated threatened Burnley in the early kick off in the English Premiership on Saturday, 5 December, 2020, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Iwobi’s performance was enough for him to last the full 90 minutes as he was a threat to the Burnley defence from his right wingback position throughout the duration of the match.
Bobby Brady put the hosts ahead as early as the third minute when his pile driver from outside the box caught Everton keeper, Pickford napping.
Iwobi nearly provided an assist for Dominic Calvet-Lewin when the striker toe-poked his inviting cross towards goal but Burnley Keeper, Nicky Pope saved with his legs.
Everton’s equaliser finally arrived in the second minute of added time in the first half when Richarlison crossed for Calvet-Lewin to score his 11th goal in the Premiership making him the leading scorer.
Everton is now 6th on the table while Burnley remain 19th.
