Lagos4Lagos Movement Lead Visioner, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, accompanied by the leadership of the movement, on Friday, 2 April, 2021 stormed Ibeshe community in the Oriade Local Council Development Area Area of Lagos State, to grace the final football competition between Meerak FC and Itomaro/Ilado FC.
The football competition, a grassroots talent hunt initiative, organised by HIM (Heros Initiative Movement) and supported by the Lagos4Lagos Movement, began the interplay earlier in the year with about 20 community teams participating.
Jandor, as he is popularly called, alongside his visiting team were received with a loud ovation from the hordes of youths and participants.
Speaking at the event, Jandor thanked the organisers for a wonderful initiative to bring out the inner talents of the youths in the area.
Subsequently, he admonished all the youths and participants to always imbibe the culture of ‘Omoluabi’ – mantra known with Aworis and Lagosians
As one of the Lagos All Stars Football Club strikers himself with records to prove, he advised that the competition should be played in a friendly manner and announced an additional cash donation to the winning team.
The highlight of the event was when he initiated the proceedings of the competition with a stylish kick- off which was greeted with a loud applause.
The two teams skillfully played with their hearts saw the scoreline at 2-2 at the end of proceedings. The resultant penalty kicks conducted eventually saw Itomaro Ilado FC coming out victorious with score line of 4 as against 3 to Meerak FC.
Presenting awards to different categories of players was the representative of ‘Onibeshe of Ibeshe’ kingdom – Oba Razak Alani, Chief Waliu Odofin.
Also presenting the medals and trophy to the winning team was the Principal Cordinator of Lagos4Lagos Movement, Mr. Bode Makinde on behalf of the Lead Visioner, Dr. Adediran. He later reminded all to take action and work assiduously towards keeping the dream of a better Lagos burning in their hearts till it comes to fruition.
