President Goodluck Jonathan has been described as lacking in merit and competence to govern Nigeria beyond May 29, this year.
The lawmaker representing Osun East (Ife/Ijesa) Senatorial District in the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Babajide Omoworare on Monday, 2nd March, 2015 made the remark while addressing a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) press centre in Osogbo.
According to Senator Omoworare who is seeking a re-election to the Senate in the forthcoming general election, “President Jonathan lacks competence and capacity to run the government of Nigeria.”
He then urged Nigerians to cast their votes for the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), General Muhamadu Buhari (retrd) come March 28 presidential poll stressing that Buhari has sterling qualities to rule the nation successfully..
Senator Omoworare noted that there is money in Nigeria but said that the money is within the reach of the few.
He decried what he termed President Jonathan’s “pocket money” in the yearly budget saying that is a disservice to the nation’s economy.
The lawmaker maintained that it was Buhari’s outstanding qualities that earned him the presidential ticket of the APC saying that the party seemed to have confidence in him (Buhari) in the area of security.
Senator Omoworare blamed President Jonathan for the poor turn-out in the collection of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) thus necessitating the postponement of the general election.
