President Goodluck Jonathan will have more than 75 percent votes in Yoruba land in the March 28 presidential election in the country, the Governor of Ondo state, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has said.
Governor Mimiko declared this on Friday, 6th March, 2015 at the residence of Senator Iyiola Omisore in Ile-Ife.
Mimiko was in Ile-Ife to receive President Jonathan who visited the Ooni of Ife, Oba Ojunade Sijuade on his re-election bid. According to Mimiko, the propaganda of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) would not affect the chances of Jonathan in coasting to victory in Yoruba land and across the country.
He said President Jonathan has political goodwill that would ensure his victory saying that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had for long been advocates of federalism in Nigeria.
The governor however expressed displeasure over the level of the preparedness of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) towards the general election.
He said: “with all sense of humility, President Jonathan will jave more than 75 percent of votes in Yoruba land. APC is well grounded in propaganda and the super structure of their programmes is propaganda.
“For so long, we have been the advocates of federalism in Nigeria and president Jonathan has better chances of winning again.”
