The Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Tuesday disagreed with the counsel to Abba Kyari, the head of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigeria Police on summons against his client.
Nosa Uhumwangho, who represents Kyari, told the panel he only heard of the matter against his client in the media.
Doris Okuwobi, chairperson of the panel, disagreed with Uhumwangho’s claim, saying summons were served on the Lagos Police Command and the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Panti.
In his intervention, Olukayode Enitan, counsel to the Lagos State Government urged the panel to either make Uhumwangho accept that his presence was admittance of service. Uhumwangho then accepted and moved to cross-examine the petitioner, Nzube Obiechina and her husband Okuchukwu Obiechina.
The Gazelle News.com had reported Nzube alleging unlawful arrest during which she suffered two miscarriages.
