Thegazellenews.com has just learnt that the Supervisor for Women’s Affairs in Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Alhaja Modinat Aro is dead.
This medium learnt exclusively that Alhaja Aro, who was also wife to the Baale of Ojodu community in the council area, died in the morning of Tuesday, 24th June, 2014, after what was described as a protracted illness.
Until her death, she was Supervisor for Women’s Affairs in Ojodu LCDA. She was buried on Tuesday, 24th June, 2014.
Conspicuously absent at the burial ceremony was the council chairman, Engineer Julius Oloro, under whom the deceased served until her death.
Thegazellenews.com’s investigation among the deceased’s family members revealed that the council boss might have deliberately decided not to attend the burial due to his attitude to her when she was alive.
“Since this woman fell sick in January, the council chairman has not visited her to talk of assisting with her medical expenses, yet she was a Supervisor in the council,” a family member told our correspondent.
Another stated that the only money the council chairman spent on the deceased while she was lying down critically ill was a paltry N20,000 he sent to her weeks after her sickness began.
“He knows that if he comes to the burial, residents of the community may react to his presence negatively. For God’s sake, this woman apart from being the wife of the Ojodu monarch, was also a supervisor in the council, yet the council chairman treated her with ignonimy until her death, so he knows his presence at the burial will not be welcome,” yet another family member said.
All efforts to speak with Engineer Oloro proved abortive as he did not respond to calls to his mobile phone as well as text messages to his phone.
