Two people have been reported dead during a fierce battle for supremacy between two rival cultures groups in Ijora Badia, Amukoko area of Lagos State, reports The Gazelle News.com.
The incident occurred on Monday, 19 October, 2020 around Olayinka Street, by Baale Road, Amukoko in Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area of the state.
Eye witness told The Gazelle News.com that the violence started early morning and the cause of the violence was not known.
“I just see it a mere supremacy battle between the two groups. It has always been there but the one on Monday was violent which led to the death of two people, one each from both sides. I heard one of them saying the score is 1-1,” sources told The Gazelle News.com.
This medium learnt that the police at Amukoko police station only secured their station but did not come out apparently due to the #EndSARS protests going on across the country.
The whole of the Olayinka Street, Baale Road and environs were no go area on Monday as socio-economic activities were paralysed throughout the day as a result of the fracas.
Normalcy was partially restored in the night with the arrival of some military personnel but our correspondent learnt that tension has returned to the area on Tuesday, 20 October, 2020 with the two groups still spoiling for war.
