Son of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior, Kabir has bagged a national appointment from the Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), reports The Gazelle News.com.
The young man was named into the National Lobby Group of the party.
Kabir’s appointment was announced via a release on Thursday, 22 July, 2021, by Barrister Ismaeel Ahmed, Youth Representative in the APC-CECPC.
Also in the National Lobby Group chaired by Barrister Ahmed are: the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja; House of Representatives member for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/ Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Honourable Shina Peller; an Aide of Kayode Fayemi, Governor of Ekiti State, Egghead Adewale; and Deputy National Youth Leader of the APC, Afeez Bolaji Repete among others.
Former aides of deceased ex-Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi: Dayo Iyaniwura, Personal Assistant; and Titiloye Gbadamosi, Special Assistant on Community Relations were appointed into the Southwest Zonal Committee of the Lobby Group.
The National Youth Lobby Group was set up to meet with leaders at the National Level for effective delivery of the Youth Mandate.
The expectation is that the congresses, whether by consensus or contests, will throw up many young and committed members of the party from the ward level as leaders that would invigorate the party.
Among other things, members of the zonal lobby groups are to engage party leaders at state and local levels to lobby the full inclusion and participation of young people in the forthcoming congresses, so as to attract the energy, commitment and brains of young people in running the affairs of the party and giving them a sense of ownership and therefore commitment.
They are also to work in conjunction and consultation with the interim youth leaders in their respective domains for maximum impact.
Below are the list of the committees for each geo-political zone with at least one person picked from every state in the respective zone.
