The Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Government Administration, Senator Buruji Kashamu, has thrown his weight behind the anti-corruption fight of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kashamu said this while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after a reception organised in his honour alongside a member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Adesegun Adekoya and members of the Ogun State House of Assembly on their victories at the Court of Appeal.
The event was organised by the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held at Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, on Saturday.
The lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial district in the upper chamber contended that Nigerians, irrespective of political afflictions, must support the move by the present administration to stem the tide of corruption in Nigeria.
He, therefore, called on the president not to be selective in fighting the menace which, according to him, had eaten deep into all spheres of human endeavour in the nation.
Kashamu said all the moves of President Buhari as a democratically elected president were a clear indication that he was out to clean the system for the country to progress.
“It is in the light of the foregoing that we, as patriotic Nigerians, must rise above ethnic, religious or even political persuasions and support every genuine initiative meant to address corruption and redirect our national life.
