Following the deregulation of the petroleum downstream sector, the Chairman of the Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Haddy Ametuo has thrown his weight behind the Federal Government on the matter.
Alhaji Haddy Ametuo after a meeting at the national secretariat of APC in Abuja said the only way out of the present economic crisis as a result of the mismanagement of the Nigerian economy by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) past administration is total deregulation of the petroleum downstream sector.
The APC Kogi State Chairman advised Nigerians especially, Kog State people to be patient with the Federal Government stating that “this is the temporary pain we have to endure now in order for the future to be better”.
He therefore warned all elected members from Kogi State to desist from making unguarded utterances that is capable of causing disaffection in the country, that any further unguarded statement or comment should be adequately dealt with.
He advised the Nigeria Labour Congress (MLC) to show understanding with the Federal Government and return to the negotiation table for further negotiation on the minimum wage and other palliative measures being offered by the Federal Government.
