Director-General, Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation, Bimbo Daramolan during a street rally in Ado-Ekiti…on Thursday.
The Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation has accused members of the Labour Party of unleashing terror on All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Ilupeju Ekiti in Oye Local Government area of the state, southwest Nigeria.
According to a release signed by the spokesman for the organisation, Dimeji Daniels, the alleged attack took place on Thursday, 24th April, 2014, during a campaign rally in the town.
“During a campaign rally in the town, the LP members, armed with all sorts of dangerous weapons, attacked APC members in the community and also vandalised the campaign buses of APC.
“An APC member known as Dare Olokada (Dare, okada rider) was macheted on the head by the Labour Party members,” the statement said.
Daniels stated further that, “rather than allow him to be taken to the hospital, the LP members took him away while he was bleeding profusely.
“Up until now, the whereabouts of Dare is unknown. We don’t know where he has been taken.
“We call on security agencies to call to ask them to release Dare for treatment.
“We are surprised that the Labour Party quickly rushed to the press to claim that APC members attacked them.
“Opeyemi Bamidele had earlier said at a gathering of Iyin Ekiti sons and daughters that he would recruit thugs from Mushin to unleash terror on Ekiti people. With the way the LP is going around attacking all communities they visit, he has certainly activated his cell of thugs.
“In three days, LP members have attacked Ido-Ile, Ipole-Iloro, Egbe, Aramoko, Okemesi, Ilupeju and many other towns”.
As at the time of going to press, there has been no response from the Labour Party group as calls and texts to the mobile phone of its spokesman was not responded to.
