The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ibrahim Babatunde Balogun has urged members of the party to mobilise fully for the membership registration/revalidation exercise in the state, reports The Gazelle News.com.
Alhaji Balogun stated this on Monday, 1 February, 2021 at the party secretariat at a Stakeholders’ Meeting held to sensitise leaders of the party at all levels in the state on the exercise.
The occasion was also used to introduced members of the Membership Registration/Revalidation Committee for the state to leaders of the party.
“We are set for this exercise and I want to assure the committee members of our full support and cooperation. We’re committed to bringing more members into the party and we will not relent on this.
“Tell our members at home to mobilise fully for this exercise. Politics is a game of number and we must mobilise to multiply members of this great party and show to the world that we’re the greatest and biggest party in Africa,” Balogun urged party leaders at the meeting.
Speaking later, the Chairman of the Committee for the state, Dr Mohammed Bashir Ruwan Godiya expressed happiness at the warm reception accorded him and other members of the committee in the state.
“We are grateful to our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the state Governor and the party Caretaker Committee Chairman as well as other members of the party, for the warm reception,” he said.
While seeking support and cooperation of all party members for the exercise, Dr Godiya assured that the committee will provide level playing ground for all members to register irrespective of ethnic or religious leanings.
“Our aim to promote the party and we will join hands to do this,” he said.
Other members of the committee are: Chief Anthony Ogah, Secretary; Abiodun Ambali, Tilewa Sijuade, Ibrahim Isiaka, Abiodun Mafe and Wasiu Doyin Banjo.
