The Lagos State House of Assembly is to commence performance review of the Year 2018 budget by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the sectors in the state.
The aim is to ensure strict compliance with the Year 2018 Appropriation Bill passed by the House and signed into Law by the state Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode
The Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Olumuyiwa Jimoh who moved the motion for the exercise to take place, explained that all sectors of governance would be examined to monitor growth and adherence to the budget.
“The Mid-Year budget performance would disclose the level of performance, compliance with the provisions of the Appropriation Law and serve as background reference point for the consideration of the Year 2019 budget proposal,” he stated.
Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the House, set up an Ad hoc Committee to embark on the assessment of the mid-year budget which is expected to commence on Monday, 9th July, 2018.
Members of the Committee are: Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu (Chairman), Hon. (Princess) Adefunmilayo Tejuoso, Hon. Yinka Ogundimu, Hon. Bisi Yusuff, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, Hon. Jude Idimogu, Hon. Lanre Oshun and Hon. Nurudeen Saka-Solaja.
The Committee was mandated to report back to the House in two and half weeks.
