Lagos Police Command has paraded over 47 armed robbery suspects out of which majority of them were traffic robbers.
Thirty four (34) also were arrested for various cases of disturbances in Lagos.
The paraded suspects were arrested between the 22nd of January, 2016 till date.
The suspects who include one Mr Amos Oladapo (M), who work with one construction company in Victoria Island, Lagos drove the company caterpillar that worth N120m to Ogun State and sold it to Engr. Abiodun Taiwo and Engr. Rotimi Ayegbemi.
The caterpillar has been recovered and returned to the company.
Others, include four Lagos State University (LASU) students which were arrested in connection with the death of one female student who died after attending a party.
Her death was said to have caused by the concucion drinks she took while at the party.
Weapon recovered includes four (4) pump action riffles; twenty two (22) locally made guns and other armed weapons.
Meanwhile Lagos Police Commissioner, CP Fatai Owoseni earlier in his speech said 651 motorcycles were impounded for contravening the Lagos traffic law.
Owoseni also commended his men and other security agencies for huge success in hosting Access Bank Lagos Marathon and hosting of German President, Mr Joachim Gauck who visited Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode recently.
He therefore sympathise with the family of ACP Ekpo who died on Valentine’s day when he was discharging his duty “between July last year to this time ACP Ekpo has been our success story” said Owoseni.
He added that “even the Agbara robbery he personally led the team of our men who chases those robbers and recovered two gun boats which we met one of their phone in it”.
He describe the Ekpo as courageous and fearless officer.
He then praised members of the public of timely information being supply to police when there’s any crime incidents “We will continue to appreciate timely information by the public and SMS”.
“My line is open for members of the public, reporting crime on social media will not help the police on investigation crime incidents”.
“We have launch mobile police application were we are so effect for you to report any crime incident”.
“We are been paid by tax payers money, so is our duty to response timely to crime incidents and protect you all”.
” The public is hereby advised to respect police and stop disturbing them when they about to carry on their duty”.
