Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, has said the crisis bedevilling the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, was unfortunate but not insurmountable.
He spoke while paying a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Michael Olufisayo Ologunde, describing the recent meeting in Abuja of Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his State of Osun counterpart, Adegboyega Oyetola, as mostly apt.
Saying LAUTECH has consolidated on its leadership position as a University of Technology, Dare who delivered the 13th annual lecture of the LAUTECH Alumni Association, called on all stakeholders to seek means of returning the Institution to that period when academic activities were unbroken.
Promising to play active role in finding lasting solution to the incessant closure of the University which he said was a model, the Minister said LAUTECH products were exceptionally good in their various chosen fields.
Earlier in his welcome address, Professor Ologunde, lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for choosing Dare as a Minister, adding that his choice was an indication that we truly believed in the youths.
He admonished the Minister to use his good offices to help humanity and assist educational institutions as moulders of the Nation’s future leaders to achieve their mandates.
