A member, Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Olajide Jimoh has commended the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode over the 2018 budget estimated One Trillion, Forty-Six billion, One Hundred and Twenty-One million, One hundred and Eighty One thousand, Six hundred and Eighty naira, (N1, 046, 121, 181,680) presented to the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The budget which was tagged “The Budget of Progress and Development” is expected to consolidate infrastructure, education, transportation, traffic management, security and health with an added emphasis on mandatory capacity building for civil servants, teachers in the public secondary/primary schools, officers in the health service sector and women and youth empowerment alongside Medium and Small/Micro Size Entrepreneurs (MSMSE’s).
The lawmaker representing Lagos Mainland Constituency gave the commendation in a statement made available in Lagos by his Media aide, Mr. Debo Omilani.
“I commended the governor on his leadership and his commitment toward the transformation of Lagos State to Mega City. The 2018 Appropriation Bill presented is the clear indication that he has not deviated from his electoral promises to the residents of the state.
“Ambode has become a modest Governor in Nigeria because of his laudable achievements recorded in the short period of his administration. He made it a top priority to improve the economic of the state. Also fixing roads and creating enabling environment for wealth creations.
Hon. Jimoh maintained that during economic recessions in the country, governor Ambode deployed strategy to tackle it and also ensure regular payment of workers salaries.
Meanwhile, the federal lawmaker applauded the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for discovering and supporting a pragmatic, innovative person like Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode as governor of Lagos state.
“Lagosians should be grateful to APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for discovering Akinwunmi Ambode who has been the wheel of progress in Lagos. Even opposition party has seen Asiwaju Tinubu as the shining light that illuminate our democratic governance in Nigeria”, he said.
The lawmaker therefore call on Lagos Assembly to ensure quick passage of the 2018 budget.
He added that Chairmen of the 57 local governments and LCDAs should also emulate governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
