The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has showered encomiums on the Falconets of Nigeria for their impressive outing in the just ended FIFA Women Under-20 Championship.
Senator David Mark in a congratulatory message to officials and players said the girls gave a good account of themselves during the championship.
He said it was the indomitable spirit of Nigerians that gave them victory, adding that “though we did not win the ultimate trophy, nobody can deny that our girls made us proud in Canada”.
Senator Mark urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to do all that is needed to keep the girls together so that they could mature into the senior female national team in future.
Senator Mark also enjoined the combatants at the Glass House to resolve their dispute so that the crisis would not affect the fortune of the nation’s football now regaining momentum.
He was optimistic that the growing momentum in the Nigerian football would be sustained and improved on, for Nigeria to remain a key player in global soccer.
