The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has advocated for effective coordination and synergy among the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government to contain the various security challenges facing the country.
Ogbeni Aregbesola disclosed this on Thursday, 23 January, 2020, while delivering a goodwill address at a 2-day Inter-agency Workshop taking place in Abuja.
Speaking on the theme: Inter-agency Synergy: An Imperative for Defence and Security Management, organised by the Ministry of Defence, the Interior Minister that all MDAs must work together to achieve the primary objective of acquisition of peace before peace can be maintained.
“For effective containment of the security challenges, we cannot overlook the need for leadership and synergy in the administration of our management of the resources which are institutional, material and human that we deploy to neutralize threats and their promoters.
“We must seek to coordinate our activities, collaborate and cooperate if we want effective neutralization of threats. No one has any reason whatsoever to suffer a complex in it’s relationship with any security agency,” Aregbesola said.
Commending the Ministry of Defence for organising the event, the Minister said it is only through collaboration among the MDAs that the objective of security, peace and maintenance of law and order can be achieved.
