With 50 days to the kickoff of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has declared that he is not bothered about the bench warming roles most of his players are undergoing in their clubs.
Instead, he said his worries are members of the media who publish wrong list of players as his team list for the World Cup. “No, I am not bothered. The only thing that is bothering me is the list you guys (media) have out there. It is not my list and I don’t know how the list came about.
“We need to stop misleading Nigerians. It is not good. You should give out correct information to the people,” he said.
Mikel Obi has limited playing time at Chelsea, Elderson Echiejile has yet to establish himself at Monaco, while Victor Moses has been virtually frozen out at Liverpool.
These players are expected to feature in the final 23-man squad Keshi will take to Brazil for the quadrennial world soccer event to kickoff June 12.
Meanwhile, the coach has given May 27 as the deadline for the arrival of the players in London for the friendly match against Scotland. He said this to enable the team have one day strategic training for the match.
“We are playing on May 28, and we all should be there on May 27 so that we can have at least a one-day training session before we play,’’ he said.
