The Ondo State Police command has arrested a siblings for allegedly killing a 62-year-old community leader , Chief Joseph Omosuyi in Ondo State.
The brothers, who was identified as Sunday Akinye and Gbenga Akinye committed the offence at Ilu Titun town in Okitipupa local government area of the on Sunday.
The public relations officer of the command, PPRO, Mr. Femi Joseph disclosed this to journalists in Akure, the state capital yesterday.
Joseph said, the command had commenced investigation on the matter while the two suspects had been kept in the police custody.
According to him, “ I don’t know the extent of their involvement but at present, those are the two suspects we have in our custody over the incident, but we are still investigating”
LEADERSHIP, however, learnt that the deceased was alleged to have been hit on the chest by one of the the suspects during an argument that ensued during a family meeting held at Agirifor area of the town .
It was further gathered that the deceased who was a retired vice-principal slumped immediately after being hit and was quickly rushed to the hospital but gave up the ghost on the way .
According to a source who don’t want his name mentioned said the incident almost caused crisis in the community as the youths reportedly gathered to avenge the death of the 62-year-old community leader .
