Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu, is sad with the 4-2 loss suffered by Hapoel Beer Sheva in the hands of Kayode Olanrewaju’s Maccabi Netanya on Saturday in the Israeli Ligat Haal.
Two goals from former Flying Eagles forward, Kayode, and a goal each from Ido Levy and Romario ensured Netanya defeated Beer Sheva, which had Ogu and Dovev Gabay on target.
The former Academica de Coimbra of Portugal player, however, hoped for a better outing in their next game.
Ogu scored in the 90th minute to bring his season’s tally to four while Kayode, who scored a brace against Tel Aviv a fortnight ago, brought his total haul this season to 10 with Saturday’s two goals.
Ogu tweeted after the match, “Not the best game today but we will learn from this and bounce back stronger. Glad to have scored my 4th of the season.”
In England, Victor Moses rescued three points for Stoke City on Saturday in the English Premier League as they defeated Aston Villa 2-1 at the Villa Park.
Moses converted a penalty in the third minute of added time after Scott Sinclair’s 20th minute lead for Villa and Mamadou Diouf’s 45th minute equaliser to give Stoke the maximum points.
The goal was Moses’ second this season.
In Germany, Eagles forward, Anthony Ujah, was on target as FC Koln drew 1-1 with Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Ujah, who last scored on December 13, equalised for Koln in the 17th minute after Jose Luis Mato had given Hannover the lead in the fifth minute.
Ujah has seven goals so far for Koln this season.
Also on Friday, Bartholomew Ogbeche scored in Camburr’s 2-1 loss to NAC Breda in the Dutch Eredivise.
His 90th minute goal was his 11th so far this season. Ogbeche is also the sixth in the top scorers’ chart in the Dutch league.
