The Chairman of the Ogun State chapter of the Labour Party, Comrade Niyi Osoba, has said that government should take education and people’s welfare as priority to attain needed development for the country.
He said this while speaking at the stakeholders forum on Peace, Security, Good Governance and Human Rights organized by the state branch of the Committee for Defence of Human Rights ( CDHR), at NLC Conference Hall, Abiola Way, Abeokuta, Ogun State, southwest Nigeria.
He lamented that government has been neglecting the people by not putting in place programmes and projects that will enhance their welfare. Osoba however called on all Nigerians to play their role so that the country can be successful.
“When we talk about corruption, all of us should search our minds, we need role models and as far as Nigeria is concern we still have a few role models and if there are none we should make ourselves one. We must lay good examples for others coming,” he said.
He noted that education should be taken importantly so that the level of insecurity and maladministration can be drastically reduced.
Finally, he advised government at all levels to take in to cognisance citizens’ welfare by not concentrating on a sector of the economy while others are left to suffer.
