It was joy, clapping, singing and dancing on Thursday, 10th March, 2016 when the Ojokoro Local Council Development Area of Lagos commissioned two primary health care centres in the council area.
The two PHCs were located at Abule Titun and Ajegunle Ilo communities in the council area.
The Executive Secretary of the LCDA, Mrs. Fausat Hassan-Olajoku while speaking at the commissioning stated that the construction and commissioning of the health centres was not only meant to improve health care delivery and services in the council area but also to bring health care delivery and services closer to the people, especially those at the grassroots.
“We are happy and delighted that the commissioning of these health centres will contribute immensely to the growth and development of this LCDA as well as contribute in no small measure to improvement in the standard of living of our people, particularly those at the grassroots level,” the Ojokoro LCDA boss said.
The state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode who was represented by his Special Adviser on Primary Health Care, Dr. Femi Onanuga, commended the Ojokoro LCDA for the construction and commissioning of the health centres which he noted will go a long way in contributing positively to his administration’s desire to not only to improve health care delivery and services but also to bring such closer to the people.
“We identify with you and we will continue to partner with our councils to improve infrastructure development at the grassroots,” the Governor said.
