The Lagos state chapter of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), led by the State Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC OLUOMO) paid courtesy visit to the Chairman of Ikosi-isheri Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada.
Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya termed the visit as the 22nd in his tour to local government chairmen in Lagos State which he commenced since the inception of his administration.
He stated that the visit is a form of feedback mechanism to ascertain the level of relationship between NURTW and the local government. Responding, Princess Bada affirmed that the local government’s union chapter has been very cooperative with her administration and she has been carrying them along in all her programmes.
She commended the NURTW members and her CSO, Com. Alaba Shobo (CYPON) for the peaceful roles they played during the #EndSARS protests and aftermath.
“The only challenge we have is the revenue in which the local government needs to harmonize with the union”, she said.
The NURTW boss expressed his displeasure with infringements by some union officials in the local government. He then promised to establish a solid relationship between NURTW and the local government administration.
Present at the short meeting were: the Vice Chairman, Alhaji Mikhail Adisa; the Council Manager, Prince Olujobi; Legislative Council Leader, Hon. Usman Akanni; and some councilors, some executive members, LGA Youth Leader, Mr. Ahmed Idowu (Agba Egbe) officials of Ikosi-isheri NURTW and some of their state executives.
