Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on Monday, 9th June, 2014 disclosed that his Deputy, Mrs. Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, would not be dropped in his second term bid in office ahead of the August 9 governorship election in the state.
With this disclosure, Governor Aregbesola had laid to rest rumour making the rounds that he would dump Laoye-Tomori in his race for re-election.
The governor while addressing people of Osogbo on Monday at a programme organized by the people to show their appreciation to him and to endorse him for re-election in office, noted that he submitted the nomination form of Mrs. Laoye-Tomori to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as his running mate in the election last Thursday, 5th June, 2014.
Describing his deputy as an active member of his team whom he can’t do without as the election approaches, Governor Aregbesola said his appreciation for the love and unalloyed support his administration has received from the people of Osogbo till date coupled with the unbroken loyalty of Mrs. Laoye-Tomori necessitated her choice.
Also presenting Mrs. Laoye-Tomori as his running mate in the August 9 gubernatorial election to traditional rulers at a luncheon organized by traditional rulers in the Osun Central Senatorial District to pray and endorse Governor Aregbesola for second term in office, the governor said, “no one changes active member of a winning team at the middle of contest.”
Governor Aregbesola however called on all and sundry to support his administration by casting their votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) come August 9, 2014.
