The All Progressives Congress (APC) has again alerted Nigerians and the outside world that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) plans an unprecedented man’s inhumanity to man around August 9, just before during and after the governorship election in Osun State.
According to the APC in a statement signed by the party’s Director of Publicity, Research and Strategy in the state, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi, the PDP, “In what will be tantamount to a massacre has planned to place the state on a war footing using the army, the police and dangerously armed militia not just to terrorize, but to murder, assassinate and commit large-scale arson to win the election willy-nilly.
“As a prelude to this massive blood-letting, inside sources within the PDP have disclosed that virtually all top government functionaries believed to be loyal to Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, including every APC leader within their reach would be arrested or assassinated.
“Our sources also alerted that the PDP is amassing explosives and incendiaries which will be freely used to create maximum chaos, set the voting process in utter disarray before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) comes in for the kill to announce a pre-determined election result”.
The statement stated further that “PDP is resorting to this vicious alternative because it is not succeeding in changing the peoples support for Rauf Aregbesola and the APC despite the cash and materials it is doling out to citizens.
“One of PDP’s most ridiculous and mocked attempts to deceive the world that Iyiola Omisore has popular support is the sexed-up photograph being sponsored in the media since last weekend, purporting to show Omisore addressing a so-called “huge crowd” at a campaign rally in Apomu.
“Osun citizens are laughing their heads off at the folly explicit in that photograph because it is public knowledge here in the state that Omisore was nowhere at Apomu, headquarters of Isokan Local Government Area at the time the picture was said to have been taken. Besides, there was no way Omisore could get that kind of crowd at Apomu.
“Confronted with the faux pas of the loud rejection of the person of its candidate for the August 9 election, the PDP is said to be seized with a rage and determination to “wade through the blood of Osun people, if that is the last resort left to win.”
The statement went further to state that the APC declared that “rage or no rage, war or no war PDP cannot take Osun with blood and violence and survive.”
“The die is cast,” the APC said, adding that, “Our corporate existence as a united country is on the line of fire because the Presidency and the PDP leadership like vampires want to take Osun with blood dripping from their mouths.”
