Osun Election: PDP, Omisore Frustrated By Their Defeat At The Polls – APC

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the statements emerging from the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate in the last governorship candidate in the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore, appear to suggest that the party and its functionaries have gone paranoid and are seriously afflicted by the frustration of their inordinate ambition.

According to a statement signed by Osun APC’s Director of Research, Publicity and Strategy, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi, the party stated that in PDP’s present state of mind, “nothing is sacred for them to destroy”.

According to the APC, “Before the election, they fought like crazy to have Amb.Rufus Akeju removed as the Osun state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) because according to them, the man was bias in favour of the APC.

“Under extreme pressure, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) removed the innocent man to help Omisore and the PDP fulfil their ambition.

“But in spite of that and the unprecedented Federal might in security presence, 73,000 of them, Omisore still lost the election, yet he continues to live in delusion that he is a popular candidate.

“This psychological lie which he lives still haunts him and even the man who did his best to help Omisore convince the world that he is popular, has become his victim.

“Mr. Segun Agbaje gave both parties a level playing ground to demonstrate their popularity. But now, having lost fair and square, he has turned around to accuse the man who replaced Amb. Akeju of covering up for the APC.
“In a more civilised clime, Omisore should have had the decency to accept defeat. But because he’s dazed by the defeat, he appears not to be coordinated.

“INEC in every material particular, is more credible on the question of the August 9 election than we have ever known them to be. A collection of liars within the PDP cannot change that. Omisore should prove his allegation and if he can’t, he should stop maligning the integrity of the INEC”.
