The Governor of the State of Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola, has commiserated with the Field Commander of the State Amotekun Corps, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, over the death of his mother, Alhaja Aishat Shittu.
The matriarch of Shittu’s dynasty died on Saturday, 14 August, 2021, at the age of 94.
Governor Oyetola, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ismail Omipidan, described the death of Amitolu’s mother as a big loss not only to the children but the entire family and loved ones of the deceased.
According to the Governor, the late Alhaja Shittu was a great woman, loving and caring mother who dedicated her life to the service of Allah and training of her children on the path of greatness as reflected in the rare qualities of Comrade Amitolu Shittu and his elder brother, Shittu Alamu, a veteran journalist.
“We are pained by her death. The deceased while alive, was known for her meek character, good neighbourliness and care for the family and entire members of Oloya’s compound in Isale-Osun community, Osogbo.
“We thank Allah for granting Mama long life as we take solace in the fact that her entire life was dedicated to serve Allah and humanity. She will be forever remembered for her righteousness, good deeds and indelible impacts on the lives of the people around her. We pray Allah to grant her Aljana Firdaus and bestow on the family, the fortitude to bear the loss,” Oyetola said.
