PDP Blasts Gulak For Inaugurating Jonathan Campaign

The Peoples Democratic Party, Akwa Ibom State chapter, has criticised the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, for inaugurating Goodluck Support Group in the state.

The state party Chairman, Mr. Paul Ekpo, in a communiqué made available to newsmen on Tuesday night in Uyo, said Gulak came to Akwa Ibom State and inaugurated a sectional and an unknown support group in favour of President Goodluck Jonathan without calling on the state’s party leadership.

The communiqué advised Jonathan to caution his aides, who were bent on causing disaffections in various states of the federation, purporting to be acting on behalf of the Villa.

“Let Ahmed Gulak sort out PDP problems in Adamawa State, deliver Adamawa State to the President before rushing to safe territories, like South-South Nigeria, where Jonathan requires no campaign.

“The meeting warns Alhaji Gulak to desist from further interference in the affairs of the state as we do not need the assistance of any outsider to campaign here for Mr. President,” the communiqué read.

The communiqué also condemned in totality all forms of terrorism and its manifestations in the country, particularly the recent bombing of innocent civilians at Nyanya, Abuja, and the abduction of innocent girls at the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Bornu State.

The communiqué upheld the zoning of governorship position to Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District in line with the decisions reached at the various town hall meetings, held in all the 10 federal constituencies of the state.

The Akwa Ibom PDP, however, passed votes of confidence on Jonathan, Akpabio and the Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, for restoring the confidence of Nigerians in the PDP.

The communiqué read, “The meeting unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, on his pivotal roles and the transformational agenda in Nigeria and urged him to contest the 2015 presidential election.
