Pitan Organises Free Medical Service In Amuwo Odofin; Commends LG Boss On Infrastructure Development

To compliment the efforts of the Comrade Ayodele Adewale administration in Amuwo Odofin Local Government on health care service delivery, the former Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Dr. Leke Pitan, on Tuesday, 2nd September, 2014, organized a free medical outreach. The event was held at Unity Grammar School, Mile 2, Lagos.

The free medical services included free tests for the eye, blood pressure and blood sugar amongst others. It also included distribution of free eye lenses and drugs to patients.

Dr. Pitan while shedding light on the initiative described the exercise as his own way of giving back to the society from his God-given area of knowledge and specialization.

The Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale applauded the gallant efforts of Dr. Pitan during his tenure as the state Commissioner for Health. “We cannot forget in a hurry your role in giving health care delivery a face lift in Lagos State under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Governor of Lagos State,” he noted.

Comrade Adewale used the medium to call on corporate bodies, spirited individuals, politicians and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to give back to the community to assist governments in improving the lives of the people.

Meanwhile, the former Commissioner for Health has lauded the developmental projects in the local government. He gave this commendation when he visited the local government secretariat in Festac Town, Lagos.

In his words “to say that I am impressed is an understatement. I feel moved that I would easily find in the chairman a soul mate, in terms of passionate commitment to service delivery. I am also impressed by his creativity.”

He further stated that “I am clear he can replicate this at the state level. He should serve in an executive capacity in Lagos State.”
