A team of police officers from Ogun state police command and men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) Lagos on Saturday, 12th April, 2014 jointly arrested five suspects in Joju area of Otta, Ogun State with human heads and flesh( in pieces).
The arrest was made possible as a result of a follow up to a tip off from the residents of Joju area, Otta in Ado Odo/ Otta Local Government Area of Ogun state, southwest Nigeria.
The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Otta Division of Ogun State Police Command, CSP Gabreal Idibie led a team of operatives to assist the men of SARS, Lagos who got the first hand information to Joju area where the suspects were arrested and the exhibits were recovered from them.
The suspects arrested are: Kubura Salami, Tantolorun Abimbola,Kafaya Popoola,Wahid Ibrahim and Adamu Rafiu.
The exhibits recovered from them include one complete human head and pieces of human flesh in a container stained with liquid substance suspected to be human blood.
The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Ikemefuna Okoye has ordered that the case be handed over to SARS Lagos for discrete investigation since it is a follow up to an ongoing investigation with the Lagos men while officers from Ogun state command will complement the Lagos command in the course of its investigation of the incident CP Ikemefuna Okoye also assured the general public that the police will not condone any act of criminality and inappropriate behaviours within the state as it’s ready to harness all available resources to have robust intelligence-driven policing.
He therefore commended the people of Ogun State for their support all the time promising that the police in the state will not disappoint them in carrying out its statutory duties.
