The chairmanship aspirant for Agege Local Government on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bukola Nurudeen Sofidiya has called on Muslims in the country to spend the Ramadan period in continued prayers for the unity of the country and for peace to reign in the country.
Sofidiya, popularly called Gidado, stated this in his Ramadan message to Nigerians and Muslims in particular released by his media team on Tuesday, 13 April, 2021.
“Ramadan is a period for sober reflection, a period that we move closer to God, it is therefore an opportunity for us to increase our supplications to God for the unity of the country and for peace to reign in our dear nation,” he said.
Gidado enjoined Muslims to observe the fasting with fear of God and genuine desire to make positive changes in the country with prayers and supplications.
“We should not shy away from the fact that the country is facing serious challenges and all efforts must be geared towards surmounting these challenges. The Ramadan has presented one of such opportunities, hence I urge that we maximise the opportunity,” he said.
Sofidiya said, “I seize this opportunity therefore to wish all Muslims a fulfilling Ramadan and I pray that Almighty Allah accepts our supplications and prayers during and after the period. May He accept our fasting as an of Ibaddah (worship) for us. Ramadan Kareem”.
