Moslems in Osun as well as in other states of the federation have been urged to use the period of Ramadan fast to reflect deeply and pray earnestly for peace to prevail in the country.
Besides, they should also pray that “political sanity should become dominant in the hearts of politicians, especially those in the State of Osun who appear desperate for political power.”
This was the plea contained in a goodwill message from the Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), signed by its Director of Publicity, Strategy & Research, Barr. Kunle Oyatomi, to Moslems as the Ramadan fast starts on Saturday, 28th June, 2014.
“As a religion that promotes peace and brotherliness, Islam and true Moslems should be in the vanguard of peaceful co-existence amongst the different peoples of our society”, the APC said adding that at this period of great challenges facing Nigeria and the political class, fasting and praying for Divine intervention is a great necessity.
According to the APC, there is a significant degree of political desperation in the State of Osun which requires prayers for a change of heart on the part of politicians who want power at all and any cost.
“Let us use this period of Ramadan as effectively as we can to fast and pray for sanity and peace to reign in Osun before, during and after the election of August 9th ,” the APC said wishing all Moslems and their neighbours a sublime period of reflection and spiritual communication with Allah.
