A member of the House of Representatives, Hon Olajide Jimoh has called on Nigerians to pray for the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and love one another as Muslims all over the country enter the Ramadan period.
Jimoh said in a statement released by his media office in Lagos that “this administration is working assiduously to ensure that Nigerians reap the dividends of democracy under the present government despite the economic challenges in the country.”
The statement as quoted, which was made available to the media, “that the country is experiencing economic hardship due to bad leadership and mismanagement of funds.
“Our Muslim brothers and sisters should therefore, use the occasion of this Ramadan to pray fervently to Almighty Allah to reposition this country and grant President Buhari wisdom, and good health to fix our economy so that better time would return to the country.
“We can all see that President Buhari has done a lot in terms of curbing insurgency, and recovered some funds from looters but he’s trying hard to ensure that the economy comes back to normal. Our President needs our patience, and co-operation at this time”.
Jimoh, representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, said that President Buhari has the will to find a lasting solution to the challenges confronting the country, adding that there were some people that don’t want him to succeed, and that Nigerians should join hands to take the country out of the doldrums.
While congratulating Muslim faithfuls in Lagos Mainland, Jimoh said that there is no gainsaying the fact that relative peace is being enjoyed in Lagos Mainland Constituency, but that the people of the area should eschew any form of violence, cultism and other forms of vices that could cause either religious or ethnic crisis.
Jimoh said further “This year’s Ramadan period offers Muslim faithfuls another opportunity to shun evil for good; it is another opportunity for them to remould and reshape their lives both physically and spiritually to meet with the aspirations of Almighty Allah as laid down in the Holy Qur’an.
“We must all continue to pray for the present administration at the federal, states and local governments levels. We must also work hard towards building a peaceful and prosperous country, ” he said.
