It was a real day of shame for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Friday, 6th February, 2015 at the Holy Chost Service of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
While the president media team were able to make what transpired during the visit as being normal, thegazellenews.comcan reveal that the President had a torrid time at the Holy Ghost Service.
Thegazellenews.com learnt that when the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye officially intimated the gathering of the presence of President Jonathan, there was loud boos in response with the man called ‘Daddy G O’ calming down members.
But that was just a tip of the iceberg. When Adeboye invited Jonathan for prayers, the crowd responded with boos, jeers and whistle. It was obvious that they were not happy with the President.
At a time, when Jonathan knelt down before Adeboye for prayers, members of the crowd were yelling, No! No! Go to your church! Some even asked the President to go to Synagogue that they will pray for him there.
Some were even shouting the name of Buhari when Jonathan was introduced at the event.
After the yelling had subsided, Adeboye commenced the prayer. Diplomatically, rather than praying directly for Jonathan’s success at the polls like he had done in the past, Adeboye tactically used Jonathan as a vocal point for prayer for the nation and prayer for a peaceful poll.
After jonathan and his entourage left, Adeboye now invited RCCG members seeking elective office to come forward for special prayers and the likes of the Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Yemi Osinbajo; and the party’s candidate for Lagos Central Senatorial District, Senator Oluremi Tinubu came out for prayers.
