The Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission, Chief Wale Mogaji has described the death of a former Member of the Commission, Hon. Risikat Adegeye as shocking and devastating.
Mogaji, who disclosed this after the burial of the deceased at Ebony Vaults, Ikoyi said that he and other Members of the Commission could not easily recover from the shock, adding that Hon. Adegeye was an astute politician and woman full of life with no dull moment.
Also at the burial to show their last respect to the deceased were the Commissioners, Management and selected staff of the Commission.
“We worked together for five years, but I had known her in the political arena before coming to the Commission. Adegeye was the type that would brighten up the atmosphere with her presence and humorous jokes wherever she is,” he declared.
He further stated that Lagos State has lost a gem in its political space. He also explained he had sent his condolences to the Governor Babajide Sanwo – Olu; the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; and members of her constituents in Amuwo-Odofin I, which she represented in the State House of Assembly during the 6th Assembly.
“I can only but imagine the vacuum her departure would create in the hearts of her husband, King Sunny Ade, her children and all her loved ones,” Mogaji lamented.
Adegeye was a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission between December, 2012 and July, 2019.
While praying for the repose of her soul, Mogaji also beseeched God to grant her eternal rest and members of her family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
