Security: Council Boss Urges Nigerians To Serve As Watchdogs

The Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon Jide Jimoh, has urged Nigerians to serve as watchdog to themselves in order to avert terrorism.

He disclosed this over the weekend to the journalists in his office, emphasizing that people must complement the work of security agencies to stop evil act in the society.

The council boss made it known that security agencies cannot handle the task before them alone, saying they need the assistance of the people.

Jimoh urged people to always be alert and work together to protect the neighbourhood from crime.

“I called on residents to work out activities that could enhance relationships between members, because the federal government could not guarantee safety but rather playing politics with the safety of the masses.

“Since the abduction of Chibok school girls, we have not seen any serious move by the federal government to release the girls. They only rebuffed the advice given by the opposition party”, he added.
