The Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA was at the commissioning of the Dangote Fertiliser Plant in Ibeju- Lekki Lagos.
The Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District joined other eminent personalities including the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Lawan; House of Representative Speaker, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo; and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timpre Syva.
Others include: Minster of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnibe Mamora; former Lagos State Commissioner of Finance, Mr Olawale Education; Senator Olamilekan Adeola; Senator Adams Aleiro; captains of industries, religious leaders and first class monarchs among others to witness the historic event.
President Muhammadu Buhari commissioned the $2.5 billion fertiliser plant reputed to be the largest in Africa. The plant capacity is 3 million tonnes of Urea per year.
After the commissioning of the fertiliser plant, Dangote Group President, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, in the company of President Muhammadu Buhari and other dignitaries led the tour of the massive Dangote Refinery with capacity to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
