Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has stated that he is happy to sign for English Championship side, Stoke City.
Mikel returned to England after he signed a one year contract with the Potters.
In his first interview with the club, the former Chelsea midfielder stated that he had offers from others, but decided to join Stoke City after his discussion with the coach.
He said: “I have other options but after speaking with the manager, I believe this is the best place for me to continue my career.
“I still want to win, I still want to achieve great things, this club belongs to the premier league and hopefully, I can help gain promotion.”
The Gazelle News.com reports Mikel had more than 370 appearances for Chelsea, helping them to land the Premier League title twice, as well as three FA Cups, the Champions League, and Europa League.
