Former Governor of Ogun State and delegate to the National Conference on the platform of Former Governors’ Forum, Aremo Olusegun Osoba and his loyalists have dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group, this medium learnt, will launch its new party, the Action Group of Nigeria (AGN) on Saturday, 16th August, 2014 in Abeokuta. Currently, the group is said to be hybernating in the Social Democratic Party (SDP) prior to the official launch of its new party.
Their leaving the party was the fall out of the wide difference between the Osoba group and the group loyal to the current Governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosu over control of party structure in the state.
At the last state congress of the APC, both the Osoba and Amosun groups held parallel congresses leading to the intervention of the national secretariat of the party.
However, the decision to support the Amosun group by the national secretariat did not go down well with the Osoba group which accused the national body of being biased.
Since, the exit of Osoba and his loyalists from APC, has just been a matter of time with the group becoming the beautiful bride being wooed by different political parties especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Thegazellenews.com learnt on the night of Wednesday, 30th July, 2014, that Osoba and his group have officially dumped the APC.
