SouthWest governors, some first class traditional rulers in the zone and top security officers from the Nigerian Police force, have converged on Ibadan for a high powered security meeting currently holding at the Executive Council Chamber of the Oyo state Governor’s Office.
The meeting which started at about 3 pm have in attendance: Dr Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti; Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Ondo; Mr Dapo Abiodun, Ogun; Mr Gboyega Oyetola, Osun; and the host governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, Oyo.
Among the traditional rulers currently participating are: the Alaafin of Oyo, His Imperial Majesty Lamidi Adeyemi; the Ooni of Ife, HRM Enitan Ogunwusi; Akarigbo of Remo, His Royal Highness Babatunde Ajayi; Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, HRH Fedrick Akinrutan; Olubadan of Ibadan, HRH Saliu Adetunji and Olugbon of Orilegbon, HRH Francis Alao.
The Deputy Inpector General of Police, incharge of SouthWest, Mr David Folawiyo; the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko and other heads of security agencies in Oyo state were also in attendance.
#The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Prof Ibrahim Gambari; Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and the Director General of the DSS – Yusuf Bishi who were expected at the meeting couldn’t make the journey due to bad weather. It is expected that the Chairman of the Southwest Governors’ Forum – Gov Akeredolu will brief newsmen at the end of the meeting.
