The Threat Against The Use Of E-Card Reader and 2015 General Elections By Nelson Ekujumi

Just watched a media interview on the E-card reader conducted on one Dr Okey Nwachukwu on Channels TV this morning and what one made out of the whole interview is that the political group to which Dr. Okey belongs to, are insisting that the E-card reader cannot work satisfactorily and from what I gathered,if they can not succeed in discrediting the E-card reader use meant to eliminate fraudulent and ghost voters, then they will foment trouble at the polling units on election day.

E-card reader has been used for elections in other countries in the world and it worked, its been introduced for the 2015 general elections in Nigeria by INEC and the electoral body has been working round the clock conducting mock field test in order to show the workability of the system, from the Senate, to the markets, media houses, and polling units. Yet, despite the 99% success rates of these tests, some people are still hellbent that since this system will expose electoral brigandage at the polling units, they don’t want it and are prepared to drive their electoral robbery mindset down our sensibilities.

The time to stand resolute against this evil plot against our democracy by this anti democratic elements who wants us to remain an embarrassment in the comity of nations is now. We must all stand up and rally round INEC to ensure that E-card reader is deployed to enhance the credibility of our elections.

One is hereby using this medium to alert Nigerians and the security agencies to be prepared to confront these anti democratic elements and agents of evil who want to truncate our democracy. By the grace of God, they will not succeed.
