Though the rumour mill has it that former Lagos State Governor and the national leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu, left Nigeria for medical reasons, the former governor has denied the report as false.
Early this month when he left the country for the United States of America, there had been various versions of stories concerning Tinubu’s critical state of health with some online news media insinuating that he suffered stroke and could not recognise members of his family.
However, Tinubu, in a message on his twitter handle, debunked the rumour yesterday saying: The story of my health is the mother of all lies. Do not believe it.”
According to him, rather than the story of his ill health, he only took a routine vacation, promising to return to the country soon.
“I was on my usual holidays. I thank all my well wishers. I shall return soon,” he noted in his brief but explicit twitter message.
The former governor had embarked on about three months medical trip to London last year after which he returned to the country in October, explaining that he was fit and medically sound after he was attended to by Nigerian medical practitioners, just as he challenged those who doubt his state of health to go for a race with him.
