President Donald Trump has made history as the third American president to be impeached in 151 years.
America’s 45th president was impeached by the House of Representatives on Wednesday, based on two charges preferred against him.
The Democratic-controlled House Judiciary Committee had approved two charges against Trump last week.
The first charge borders on abuse of power. The president was accused of trying to pressure Ukraine to smear his political rival, Democratic presidential contender, Joe Biden.
The second charge says the president is obstructing Congress, by failing to co-operate with the House’s impeachment investigation.
